About Flowers - Lily
The lily, also known as lilium, are considered true lilies. The name, lily, was derived from the Greek name leirion and the Roman name lilium. Lilies are incorporated into the culture and literature in much of the world.
Most species of lilies are native to the northern hemisphere. Many other plants and flowers have "lily" in their name but are not related to true lilies.
These large, often fragrant flowers range in height from 2-6 feet and differ in colors including whites, yellows, pinks, reds, oranges and purples.
